SO, part of this educational media class is teaching in an actual classroom and using technology to do it. Before doing this, I naturally needed to know what kind of tech is available and the policies and procedures around it. I interviewed my cooperating teacher and here are some thoughts to her responses...
What surprised you about your cooperating teacher’s responses? No surprises here. Everything sounds great.
What are some things that you think are “good” about what they said? Why do you think that? The students use Google classroom and are familiar with it enough that the teacher can easily direct them to different parts of it.
What are some things that maybe aren’t so good about what they said? Why do you think that? It appears there are only 1-2 platforms the students use and are familiar with. There is such a wide variety they will encounter that I think it would be beneficial to use a wider variety.
How is what you learned in the interview going to impact the planning and implementation of your mini-lesson? Consider what you'll be able to use, what you'll need to do to get approvals, timelines, etc. Obviously knowing that they each have chromebooks and are familiar with Google Classroom, I had the teacher post the link they would need to our brainstorming board on Google Classroom and as a class we navigated from there together.
Nothing too surprising and having the information from the interview was essential!
